Background

Aerosol artist “East 3” was born in San Francisco, California and was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii where he began painting at the age of 14. His first commissioned project as an aerosol artist was a mural painted in Hawaii with Phase 2 (NYC) in 1993. In 1994, East 3 was recruited by Crazy Legs and became the first member of Rock Steady Crew (RSC) and Zulu Nation from Hawaii, where he also founded the Hawaii chapter of RSC.

East 3 was featured in the Source Magazine for backdrop installations rendered for a Dr. Dre and Snoop concert in Hawaii. The Source (Magazine) did a follow up article on Hawaii Hip Hop in 2000 which covered East 3 and his projects of that time. He has also done graphic design work for the GQ Magazine, Rock Steady Crew, Backspin Productions, Tony Touch, Rawkus Records, and Clear Channel Broadcasting. East 3 is currently the head designer for Anomalies (clothing brand) which was released in the spring of 2005.
